Launching in 2022, the Academy Discussion Forum series offers opportunities for attendees to ask authors questions regarding previously published research.
Join Avery Strickland, Cfo, as he summarizes his research findings on whether using a virtual reality immersive environment is an effective and intuitive training device for participants with transradial amputations in qualifying for a myoelectric prosthesis. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a Q&A session following the presentation.
Upon completion of this presentation, participants will gain an understanding of the following:
- The impact that adequate personalized training has on the success of the use of an upper extremity prosthesis.
- How to implement the use of a virtual tool to aid in the proper use of a myoelectric prosthesis.
- The potential for an increase in efficient myoelectric prosthesis use when a virtual tool is introduced.
