This course covers the application of elevated vacuum sockets for transtibial amputees. It focuses on the benefits of vacuum technology in maintaining limb volume, promoting fluid exchange, and enhancing suspension. Participants will learn about the design and fitting of textured flexible sockets, techniques for residual limb evaluation, and modifications to improve patient outcomes and socket longevity. Practical strategies for improving wound healing and socket comfort are also addressed.
