Description
This course is designed as a "How To" for Critically Appraised Topics (CATs). Participants will learn what a CAT is, how to create a PICO question, evidence synthesis, self-editing, and an overview of the peer review process. It is geared towards students, residents, and clinicians new to evidence-based practice principles.
Learning Objectives:
After completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Understand what a CAT is and its purpose
- Formulate a searchable question (PICO Question)
- Appraise research articles for inclusion/exclusion
- Create an evidence table
- Format and self-edit a CAT
- Be knowledgeable about the CAT peer review process
