O&P clinicians treat many individuals who have had partial foot amputations due to the high incidence of amputations at this level each year. Hallux and other toe amputations are the most common, followed closely by trans- metatarsal amputations. Lisfranc and Chopart amputations are less common. With the growing number of people with diabetes and vascular disease, the number of partial foot amputations is expected to continue to rise in the coming years.
