Description
This Certificate Program for Professional Development acquaints the experienced practitioner with modern principles of upper limb prosthetic management. It introduces the experienced practitioner to interface suspension and control strategies to address multiple amputation levels. The program discusses the medical management of individuals with amputation or congenital deficiency in the context of interdisciplinary care. Post-operative and fitting rehabilitation principles that are needed to manage a patient requiring upper limb prosthetic care are identified. Clinically relevant outcome measures that are appropriate in measuring the treatment goals associated with upper limb prosthetic management are discussed. It creates a forum for dialogue among clinicians dedicated to the management of upper limb prosthetic patients.
