The EBP steps are demonstrated with two sample articles so that O&P professionals can apply the principles discussed earlier in the course. O&P practitioners are not generally researchers, but we can all be better consumers of O&P research. Though you may practice in isolated clinical settings, your patients will receive much better care if you take the time to keep yourself up-to-date and aware of the experiences and observations of others within our field. The more you become aware of the different observations and experiences available to you as you read and understand the published literature, you can read these pieces critically, recognize any weaknesses, but also identify the strengths within.
