Description
This presentation provides a foundation to the clinician wishing to gain proficiency in the management of the plagiocephaly population. The presentation discusses the mechanisms of deformation from a biophysics perspective, accompanied by the mechanisms of orthotic correction. Diagnostic presentations of key plagiocephalic phenotypes are presented along with the differential diagnosis. The clinician will be introduced to anthropometric evaluation techniques, orthotic design principles, and an overview of material science and its influence on orthotic designs. Case presentations highlighting pre/post outcomes will be discussed.
