This course provides multimedia instruction in the orthopedic and orthotic management of talipes equinovarus using the non-invasive technique pioneered by Dr. Ponseti (now deceased). Participants will receive detailed instructions for obtaining clubfoot correction using the serial casting techniques followed by orthotic management and review a number case studies narrated by Dr. Ponseti.
The presentation includes videos, photos, and illustrations that provide a review of the pathology as well as the current protocol for treatment using the Ponseti Method in both typical and complex clubfoot cases. An overview of the current research assessing the effectiveness of the Ponseti Method is provided and participants will learn tips for improving patient compliance and avoiding common errors. Advances in orthotic treatment following serial casting are also highlighted.
