Learning Objectives:
- Define how AFO stiffness can be tested.
- Understand issues of testing that affect measurement and standardization.
- Understand the clinical utility of assessing AFO stiffness.
AFO stiffness is an important characteristic affecting the user's biomechanical performance. Mechanical testing can be used to assess mechanical stiffness. This session will explore different ways AFO stiffness has been assessed, issues with mechanical stiffness that affect our ability to standardize testing, and the clinical utility of assessing AFO stiffness.
